A more relaxed counterpart within the barn, the Bistro will offer approachable, estate-rooted dishes in a refined yet welcoming setting.

The oldest building
Clara’s Barn, the oldest building on our estate, is currently undergoing a visionary transformation. As part of the European Heritage Project, this historic structure is being meticulously restored to its former glory to house a new era of refined dining.
Once reopened, it will blend the rustic charm of 17th-century architecture with cutting-edge culinary art. We are preserving every stone and story to create a space where heritage meets the heights of modern gastronomy.
Michelle Theron
Cape Town–born and –bred, Michelle refined her craft in leading Winelands kitchens, with formative stints in Michelin-starred European restaurants. Widely travelled, she brings an international perspective to Cape cuisine, yet her approach remains rooted in authenticity, heritage-inspired flavours, and a deep sense of place.
Her credentials include being named among South Africa’s Top 10 Women Chefs (2021) and recognition as a regional finalist in the San Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition (Africa & Middle East).
