Clara's Barn

Clara’s is currently being upgraded as we welcome Michelle Theron as our newly appointed Executive Chef. As our in-house culinary lead, Michelle will guide every dining experience and wine pairing across the estate.

While the barn is being prepared, it opens for occasional events. The next is the Spring Farm Tea, on Saturdays and Sundays in September.

Chef-Led Dinners

An elegant, immersive dining experience in South Africa’s oldest barn, where history and contemporary cuisine meet. Multi-course, wine-led menus are presented with precision and quiet confidence, creating a stage for seasonal produce to shine. Offered as occasional events rather than daily service.

Relaxed Gatherings

A more relaxed format within the same walls, offering approachable, estate-rooted dishes in a refined yet welcoming setting. Service is warm and attentive, designed for unhurried enjoyment.

The oldest building

Clara’s Barn, the oldest building on our estate, is currently undergoing a visionary transformation. As part of the European Heritage Project, this historic structure is being meticulously restored to its former glory to house a new era of refined dining.

For each event, it blends the rustic charm of 17th-century architecture with cutting-edge culinary art. We are preserving every stone and story to create a space where heritage meets the heights of modern gastronomy.

Michelle Theron

Cape Town–born and –bred, Michelle refined her craft in leading Winelands kitchens, with formative stints in Michelin-starred European restaurants. Widely travelled, she brings an international perspective to Cape cuisine, yet her approach remains rooted in authenticity, heritage-inspired flavours, and a deep sense of place.

Her credentials include being named among South Africa’s Top 10 Women Chefs (2021) and recognition as a regional finalist in the San Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition (Africa & Middle East).

Clara’s Barn opens on selected dates for limited culinary events. The venue also remains available for private and corporate events.
