If you are looking for a luxury hotel in Stellenbosch, our spacious, individually appointed suites echo the architecture of our heritage buildings, offering uninterrupted views of mountains or vineyards, privacy, and tranquillity.
From vineyards on the estate to farm-grown produce, we work with nature. Our Stellenbosch wine farm is home to Dexter cattle, Indian Runner ducks, sheep, chickens, and geese—all playing their part in creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that enriches the soil, manages pests naturally, and enhances biodiversity.
Explore MoreThe quality, taste and nutritional value of the food we serve to our guests starts with the life, health and balance of our soils. It’s the reason we farm holistically, regeneratively and with nature, following the principles of biomimicry as far as we can. Think of integrated pest management: the Indian Runner ducks eat the vineyard pests and weeds and fertilize the soils, naturally. The insectary plants attract the bees to pollinate the flowers, naturally. The ladybirds eat the aphids, the cattle and sheep feed on weeds, enrich and aerate the soil. You get the picture.
We grow and make all our own wines right here on the estate and sustain a variety of vegetable, herb and cover crops, complemented by livestock and poultry. The intention is to build an interconnected web of life to give us the foundation for the farm-to-table ethos we follow across all our dining experiences. What we don’t grow ourselves we source from like-minded suppliers, who share our commitment to soil life and health, as the basis for good food.
Our head of gastronomy Michelle Theron honours the Cape’s wealth of culinary traditions, reimagining them for today’s palates. Fusing heritage with innovation and simplicity with sophistication, she has created a range of dishes for you to enjoy in our 18th century heritage Cape Dutch buildings, with interiors repurposed for your luxury and comfort.
At Vergenoegd Löw, centuries-old Cape Dutch buildings house distinct culinary experiences shaped by our regenerative farm and the creative direction of Head of Gastronomy, Michelle Theron.
The 1773 Homestead offers a gracious, quietly luxurious setting for generous farm-style breakfasts, relaxed light lunches, elegant dinners, and indulgences such as our Cap Classique & Caviar pairing.
In earlier times Geuwels once the estate’s original cellar, is now the heart of our wine-led experiences: from themed tastings and platters in the Wine Lounge to our celebrated Indigenous Food & Wine Pairing of seven wines, seven plates and seven local stories, and a casually elegant restaurant guided by the seasons.
Clara’s Barn, named for Prof Dr Dr Löw’s wife and believed to be the oldest building on the farm, stands as our fine-dining flagship, an heirloom-inspired, modern gastronomic experience that will reopen in 2026 with an elevated menu expressing finesse, heritage and contemporary creativity.
The impact of cooling sea breezes and vines grown
in ancient lime-rich soils give our wines a distinctive sense of place to set us apart within the broader
Stellenbosch Wine Route.
Winemaker Vusi Dalicuba is fast establishing a reputation for wine excellence, most recently earning recognition
