As autumn quietly settles in, the annual wine grape harvest at Vergenoegd Löw draws to a close. Yet, the rhythm of life on the farm continues unabated. While the vibrant green leaves of the vineyards shift to shades of warm red in preparation for their winter rest, the cellar remains alive with activity – fermentation tanks bubbling, juices being meticulously monitored, wine pump-overs, barrel filling, and of course, countless tastings along the way.

But even as the vines enter their dormant period, storing energy and building resilience for the season ahead, we are reminded that nature’s cycles reflect our own. Just as the vines rest to prepare for renewal, so too do we humans need our moments of dormancy. We require time and space to recharge, restore balance, and ready ourselves for the cycles yet to come.

At Vergenoegd Löw, we take pride in nurturing healthy ecosystems. From our regenerative farming practices in the vineyards to the sprawling indigenous gardens dotted with stunning bronze sculptures by acclaimed South African artist Dylan Lewis, we honour the deep connection between humanity and nature. Lewis’s sculptures are a testament to the optimism of redefining our relationship with the natural world.
