Imagine a perfect, wind-still, summer evening on a picturesque wine farm \u2013 add soothing violins, a chamber choir, soft guitar and song, enchanting stories from the past, superior wines, mouth-watering food in the company of special friends \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was the mood at the Advent Harmonies event that Vergenoegd L\u00f6w hosted on Thursday, 7 December, the first of two events centred around the advent symbols of hope, peace, joy and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests each received a glass of Vergenoegd L\u00f6w Cap Classique<\/a> upon arrival, while they mingled on the lawns in front of the Manor House and Geuwels<\/a> restaurant. The sounds of a violin duo created a peaceful mood in the background. A starter of fishcake with mash and lemon sauce prepared by Geuwels chef, Drikus Brink<\/a> and his team, set the standard for the culinary offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening kicked off at the Manor House where guests were further treated to harvest table dishes \u2013 frikadelle with a tomato-based sauce, beef bredie with butternut and stamp mielies ended off with slices of cremora tart \u2013 served with Vergenoegd L\u00f6w Shiraz<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rooms in and around the Manor House were turned into intimate venues, where guests could listen to artists singing some familiar favourites and sharing fascinating stories from bygone eras. Guests wandered from station to station while sipping wines from the Vergenoegd L\u00f6w collection<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Manor House rooms come alive with music and stories, as artists serenade guests with familiar favourites in intimate settings.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last stop was at the Valentina chapel, Vergenoegd L\u00f6w\u2019s newly-built ceremonial building. Here guests were treated to Gl\u00fchwein and a special performance by chamber choir Vivox Voices, directed by Maria Viviers. They had guests in wonderment from the moment they entered the building. What a magical end to a perfect evening!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vergenoegd L\u00f6w\u2019s Valentina Chapel, harmonising with the majestic Table Mountain.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like one of the guests said afterwards, \u2018it feels as if you\u2019re in another world here, closed off from the outside\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
