Shamilin believe that if you love what you do, it won\u2019t feel like work at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Vergenoegd L\u00f6w Wine Estate, the warm and dynamic Shamilin October brings dedication and passion to her role as farm secretary. Her career path is a story of growth, ambition, and a deep-rooted love for the estate she now calls home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shamilin always had a keen interest in administrative work, often finding herself curious about the intricacies of the role. In 2021, she decided to turn her curiosity into expertise by completing a course in Accounting and PA, earning her a certificate and setting her on the path to success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shamilin\u2019s journey at Vergenoegd L\u00f6w began in December 2021 when she joined the estate as a wine advisor in the tasting room. This role allowed her to immerse herself in the vibrant world of wine, meeting visitors and sharing the estate\u2019s offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her passion and commitment didn\u2019t go unnoticed, and she transitioned into the farm secretary role, where she continues to make an impact daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA normal day in the office is quite normal,\u201d Shamilin laughs when asked what a typical workday is like for her. \u201cBut I believe that if you love what you do, it won\u2019t feel like work at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her days are filled with assisting farm workers, administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the estate. Despite the demands of the position, she takes pride in being a friendly and approachable face in the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Shamilin\u2019s answer is simple: \u201cI enjoy being the new face of the office.\u201d Her enthusiasm and commitment have made her a cornerstone of the team, and her positive attitude radiates throughout the estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From her very first interview, she knew she had found a place where she could thrive. \u201cThe day I came for an interview, I said to my former manager, Cornell, that this is home to me,\u201d she shares. \u201cI felt the love and potential this estate offers, and I\u2019m excited to be part of its future. Wherever it goes, I\u2019m going with it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shamilin draws inspiration from a former employer, Norma Ratcliffe of Warwick Wine Estate, who once told her she would achieve great things. \u201cShe believed I would make a great difference and be a success wherever I went,\u201d Shamilin says. \u201cI believed those words, and they continue to motivate me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of her most memorable experiences at Vergenoegd L\u00f6w was a sunny Saturday in 2022 when she single-handedly managed a wine tasting for over 80 students. \u201cI survived because of my passion,\u201d she says proudly. \u201cWorking alone in the wine lounge for a year taught me resilience and the value of dedication.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shamilin cherishes her free time, now that she has a more structured schedule. \u201cI\u2019m able to support my boys on to the soccer field,\u201d she says, beaming with pride. Both her sons play soccer locally in the Stellenbosch community, and she relishes the opportunity to be there for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happily married for 12 years, Shamilin and her husband are proud parents to their three children. Her family\u2019s love and support are the foundation of her success, and she balances her career and personal life with grace and determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shamilin October is more than just the farm secretary at Vergenoegd L\u00f6w Wine Estate \u2013 she\u2019s an integral part of its heart and soul.
