The Vergenoegd estate boasts a remarkable terroir and climate. Perfectly positioned between Table Mountain and the Hottentots-Holland mountain range to the east and west, the soil quality is highly diverse and produces a distinct classic wine that has enjoyed consistently good ratings.
It was JA Faure who first planted the first “new” cultivar named Cabernet Sauvignon, which consequently brought great success to Vergenoegd.
We offer some of the oldest Vintage Reds available to taste on the wine route.
Wine tasting open daily:

CLASSIC RANGE – A combination of terroir, history, tradition and passionate winemaking produce these distinctively elegant, yet well-structured and complex wines. Wines that will entice and enchant and are well suited for enjoyment with food. Recommended further cellaring will be rewarded.
RUNNER DUCK RANGE – Young and sexy, but by no means frivolous, these playfully elegant wines should be enjoyed as often as possible in relaxed surroundings. The unique name and label pays tribute to our 500 strong flock of Runner Ducks that patrol our vineyards, keeping our vines free of pests.
VINTAGE RANGE – Vergenoegd is one of the few farms on the Stellenbosch Wine Route where you can taste vintage wines. The award-winning wines on offer for tasting and purchase are between two and ten years aged.
